Profile - account settings improvement

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to account settings


By implementing this bug fix the following has now been implemented/improved: 

  • A user has the ability to access their own account settings in order to configure their time zone and access authentication.
  • A user without the correct permissions will not be able to access another users account settings
  • A site admin should be able to access anyone's account settings, and the settings will be relevant to the user
  • A site admin will be able to access all account settings

Fixed 'Search' aria label

One of the bug fixes that we have resolved this week is in relation to the global search on the intranet


The problem was that there were no landmark regions and aria labels in the correct place for the global search on the intranet. As a result this could cause accessibility issues, particularly for users who may be using a screen reader to navigate around the intranet. This issue has now been resolved.

Size of locations by people headings

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to Locations


The issue that was occurring was that there were spacing issues on the cards within Locations. This is because the bottom margin should be 8px which it was not. This issue has now been resolved, please see the image below:

Role/Skill/Grade links for global search

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to Team/Locations


The problem that was occurring was that when a user with the select permissions would navigate to the dashboard in Team/Locations then click on a dashboard link either via the dashboard card or the view all page, the link did not work and the user was not navigated to the respective screen. This issue is no longer apparent and has now been resolved. See the image below:

Admin fonts - remove css selectors section

One of the bug fixes that we have been working on this week is in relation to Admin fonts


Now when a user navigates to administration on the intranet and they go to edit the fonts the display will be correct. This is due to there being a problem around the fonts page withing the theme section in administrations on the intranet. This issue has now been resolved.

Admin: Search Results: Settings

Another feature that we have added to the intranet this week is the ability to configure the global search settings on the whole of the intranet.


Now when users with the select permissions navigate to the Administration section on the intranet and then to the Search tab they will then have the options to either enable or disable the different fields available for the following:

  • People
  • Team
  • Locations
  • Content

Bulk actions for manage content and files

A feature that we have implemented into the intranet this week is in relation to manage content.


The feature that we have added is that now when a user with the select permissions navigates to manage content and then selects multiple pieces of content they then will have the option to complete bulk actions. When selecting this then they will be able to do the following:

  • Change the workflow state
  • Change the menu item
  • Change the owner

LHS drawer for manage groups

Another feature that we have implemented this week is in relation to Groups on the intranet


Now when a user with the select permissions navigates to groups and then selects the manage groups tab they will be presented with a drawer on the LHS (Left Hand Side) of their screen. Now the user has the options to both sort and filter the content displayed in the manage groups section. Please see the image below:

Login theme

One of the new features that we have been able to implement into the intranet this week is in relation to the Login.


The feature that has been implemented is the new login theme for intranet users; please see the image below.

We believe that with this new login theme helps provide a more seamless and simplistic experience for the user.  This can be configured to the design and look that you would like from within the 'Theme' section in Admin.

Admin: Font face

One of the new features that we have been working on this week is in relation to Administration on the intranet.


The new feature that we have added is that admins of the intranet can now add and configure new site font files. As a result of this admins can add their CSS font family along with the font style and font weight. Please see the image below:

Another feature that we have implemented into the intranet this week is in relation to administration.

Engagement statistics screens

Another new feature that we have implemented this week is in relation to the engagement statistics screens.


One of the features that we have implemented is that now when a user navigates to the administration section in the intranet they will be able to go to the engagement statistics screen. This view will now allow a user with the select permissions to be able to see engagement statistics such as activity, intranet engagement, from beginning of time and current month. This data can also be filtered via date; please see the image below:

Add dashboard links to locations/teams

One of the new features that we have added this week is in relation to locations and teams.


The feature that we have implemented now allows for the user to be navigated to the respective screen when they click the link of the name of either the team or he location. By implementing this feature we believe that it will help provide a better user experience for a user of the intranet and help save time for a user having to navigate themselves to a particular team or location.

When a user with the select permissions navigates to administration on the intranet we have added the new feature for users to add file extensions which will then display in the file library for other users of the intranet.

Custom tours - slideshow

Another new feature that we have added to the intranet this week is in relation to administration.


The new feature that we have added is the slideshow feature for custom tours. Now when a user with the select permissions navigates to custom tours within administration and sets up their custom tour they will also be able to configure and edit the slideshow of the custom tour that the onboarded user will see in which the new user will then be able to interact with this feature.

Dashboard cards: Font weight issue

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to Dashboard cards.


The problem that was occurring was that the font weight for some of the cards that were displaying were incorrect and as a result did not reflect the professional standard that we hold ourselves to at Invotra. As a result this issue had to be resolved and it has now been implemented across the intranet. Please see the before and after images.

Breadcrumb navigation landmark is missing the aria label

Another accessibility bug related fix that Invotra have been working hard to resolve this week can be found in the Team dashboard of the intranet.


The issue that was occurring was that the breadcrumb navigation landmark was missing the aria label on the Team Dashboard screen. Please see the images below:

Due to their being no aria label to identify that the breadcrumb is a breadcrumb then it could cause implications for users of accessibility tools when navigating around the intranet. This issue has now been resolved.

Admin - Checklists & Profile completion screens are missing an h2 tag

Another bug fix that Invotra have resolved this week is in relation to the profile completion screens in admin.


The issue that was occurring was that there was a h2 tag missing on the following screens:

  • Admin - Custom tours - Checklist
  • Admin - Custom tours - Profile completion

As a result this could cause issues for users of screen readers due to content being read out on the page in the wrong order, leading the user to potentially misunderstand and select the wrong area on the page. This issue has now been amended and the h2 tags have been added.

Remove empty card descriptions

Another bug fix that we have been working on is in relation to the team and location cards on the intranet.


The bug that was occurring related to accessibility. The issue was that on the directory home screens for both teams & locations a heading and aria label for the description would display even if there isn't one. As a result this could cause issues for users with screen readers if not resolved and as a result was one of the priorities for Invotra to fix this week. As a result this has now been amended.

Comment settings language fix

One fix that we have resolved this week is a language fix that has been implemented across the whole of the intranet.


The fix is in relation to the language errors that have made an appearance in the Comment settings section within Administration. The two errors that occurred was the incorrect grammar was used but has now been resolved. Now the two areas in comment settings that have been amended read as 'Comment Settings' & 'Social Apps'.

Update people csv example

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to the custom importers within Administration.


The issue that was occurring was that when a user with the select permissions navigates to the 'Import' section of Administration and downloads the sample csv file provide and then uploads that csv file to the importer to see how it should appear the importer identifies that there errors in the csv file. As a result this has now been amended and the issue no longer occurs.

People import validation

One of the bug fixes that we have implemented this week is in relation to the custom importers in Admin.


The issue that was occurring was that when an admin user would upload a file that has duplicate data entries, then that data must be flagged as errors, however this was not the case and the admin was not notified of any errors that they had made. This issue has now been resolved.
