Streamlined Processes and Pricing Updates

We are happy to announce the latest updates for Smile Checks! Our team has been hard at work enhancing the Smile Checks platform to better serve your needs and streamline your experience. Here’s a breakdown of the new features and improvements that will help you accomplish your work more efficiently.

Check Request Selection UI Update

We're always seeking improvements to help you streamline your work. We've made a minor update to our Check Request page to allow you to select Bundles and Checks separately, so that it's easier for you to see the checks you need and choose them quicker.

More Payment Options

For added flexibility, we’ve introduced an option for manual processing of Credit Orders. This feature allows you to send an order in for manual tax invoice processing, which will take 2-3 business days.

Our instant activation online payment channels are still available (via e-wallet and online banking options) so you can quickly get new credits without any time delays.

Pricing Updates

We’re also very happy to announce that thanks to key efficiency and process improvements, we've been able to bring the price down for some of our checks! Digitized payslips, gig platforms checks, and our Plus Bundle pricing has been updated and lowered. You'll be able to instantly enjoy these new prices with new checks you request.

Minor Improvements and Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where selecting a check that is already included in a bundle is credited twice.
  • We now show the Report Settings for Clearance and Reference checks when you view your Check Request details.
  • Updated labels for Reference Contact Rules for clarity.
  • Added plain text link for all CTA buttons in emails for email readers that do not activate links in emails.

As always, we are committed to continuously improving Smile Checks to meet your needs. These updates are designed to enhance your experience, streamline your processes, and ultimately help you achieve your goals more effectively.

Thank you for being a part of the Smile Checks community. We look forward to your feedback and are excited to see you accomplish your work more efficiently.

New Checks and New Options

We're excited to announce the addition of three new Checks to fulfill your background checking needs:

  1. CV Check - analyze CVs automatically and extract actionable insights for better hiring decisions
  2. Residence Check - get your candidate's proof of residence from Barangay Clearance document or Residential Certification
  3. PEP/Sanctions Check - verify if your candidate is on any black lists or sanction lists

To add these checks to your background check requests, simply select the check from the check selection dropdown and submit your request.

Additional Settings for Clearance and Reference Checks

We’ve introduced a new setting for Reference Checks that enables requesters to require unique mobile numbers and company email addresses for HR and Professional Reference contacts provided by candidates. This feature also validates the provided email and phone details for authenticity. By default, personal emails and duplicate entries are still allowed, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your checks.

Additionally, requesters can now require candidates to upload a photo of their Clearance Document during the Clearance Check process. By default, requesters can still opt for a simple number input field, which may also be skipped if necessary.

Better Reporting Flexibility

A new “CC Report To” field allows requesters to include multiple report recipients by adding a list of email addresses. Simply separate each email with a semi-colon (;) to ensure all relevant stakeholders receive the report.

Secure Candidate Invitations

Candidate URLs for completed, cancelled, or closed Check Requests will now automatically expire at the end of the check process to ensure data security and reduce confusion for candidates.

What These Updates Mean for You

These updates provide greater flexibility, enhanced security, and more verification options to meet your needs. Whether you’re conducting thorough background checks or simplifying report distribution, Smile Checks continues to adapt to your requirements.

Thank you for choosing Smile Checks as your trusted verification partner. As always, we welcome your feedback to help us serve you better!

New Improvements to Streamline Operations

We're happy to announce the following new features and updates to Smile Checks:

Report Sharing to Candidates

Here at Smile Checks, we always encourage empowering your candidate with control over their own data. Of course, we understand that there are times you'd like to ensure a seamless experience for your candidates, which may include presenting the data in a different format than the standard Smile Checks Report.

Now, you now have the flexibility to disable automatic report sharing with applicants. This update gives you greater control over how reports are distributed and how they look.

To control this setting, simply select "No, do not send a copy" for the "Send candidate a copy of their report?" question under Step 3 when creating new Check Requests.

Reminders and Followups

As feedback from reference contacts are a vital part of background checks, we continue to look for ways to streamline and improve this process. To help this, we've added automated SMS reminders when we request for alternative reference contacts from candidates, instead of just email. This ensures that your candidates get updated on their background check status as quickly as possible.

Payment Improvements

Finally, we've made some workflow changes under the hood when it comes to checking payments made online through the Smile Checks Portal. We hope this makes utilizing Smile Checks for your everyday background check needs even more streamlined!
