Weekly Roundup 22nd December: Features

This is the weekly roundup of the features that we have implemented this week:

Workflow for menu items GitHub

You can now create/edit a menu item and leave it in draft or schedule it for publishing at a later date

Manage styles for widgets in Admin GitHub

In addition to creating custom styles for widgets you can now manage these styles from admin and keep your library of styles organised and consistent with your brand and site's look and feel

Workbar dropdown menus have 3 styles to choose from GitHub

Workbar dropdown menus display in a plain text format as default. You can now configure the display to view items in an letter avatar or icon style

Content locking

Prevent content being overwritten when 2 or more users simultaneously want to edit the same content
When editing content you can be confident that other users who may want to edit or update content will not be able to do so if you lock the content whilst you may editing the content  GitHub

Admin - custom content types

One of the features that we have implemented this week is in relation to Administration.


Now when a user navigates to administration on the intranet and goes to the 'Content' dropdown they will now be able to see a tab called 'Custom content types'. This now allows for a user with the select permissions to be able to create and edit different content types on their intranet.

Groups manage section - add ability to filter by date of last post

Another feature that we have been working on this week is in relation to Groups.


Now when a user navigates to Groups on the intranet they will be able to filter the results via 'Date of last post'. We have added this feature in the hopes that it helps you to locate your desired group and groups content sooner as opposed to previously.

Groups 'Join group' card

Another feature that we have added this week is in relation to Groups.


The new feature that we have implemented is the ability for a user to select the 'Join Group' button that appears when a user navigates to a public group that they have the ability to join. This option will appear as a pop up bar located towards the bottom of the screen for the user.

The feature that has now been implemented allows for users to be able to target content types. The content types that this has been implemented for are:

Fix comments for Polls

One of the bug fixes that we have resolved this week is in relation to Polls.


The problem that was occurring was that when an admin user allows commenting then users should be able to comment on contents. However users were not able to comment on Polls. This issue has now been resolved and users can comment on Polls when comments are enabled.

Remove poll from content templates

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation polls.


The issue that was occurring was that when a user navigated to the 'Add templates' screen they had the option to add a Poll under Content types. This is not correct as Polls do not use templates. As a result polls have now been removed and this problem has been resolved.

Fixed webform's user friendly requirements

One of the bug fixes that we have resolved this week is in relation to webforms.


The problem that was occurring was that a user could not drag and drop the options when in the initial state of creating a new webform. Additionally the form button disappeared when selected or dragged from left hand drawer. These have now been resolved and are no longer occurring. Another correction that has been made is that the empty state text has now been updated to read 'Click the '+' or drag an element from the left-hand side drawer'

Show group members on the member screen

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to Groups.


The issue that was occurring was that when a user joins a public group they would then become a member of that group. However, when you would then navigate to the members screen of that group it would not be updated to reflect the user that had just joined the group. This issue has now been resolved and is no longer occurring.

Group post category select spacing

Another bug fix that we have resolved this week is in relation to Group posts.


The problem that was occurring was that the 'Spacing' for the 'choose a category' field in the create group post was misaligned. As a result this was not displaying on the screen correctly and did not meet the standards that we hold. This has now been resolved and is displaying correctly.
