A 404 error occurs when a URL is inactive in your domain. For example, links to deleted or disabled products. If these inactive URLs are visited (e.g., from old newsletters), the viewer will land on a 404 error page.

Easy Redirect reports when someone hits a 404 page on your domain. It cannot notify you of a 404 error before someone lands on this page because there's an infinite number of possible inactive URLs on your domain.

If you have recently installed Easy Redirects, there's no existing database of what URLs are resulting in 404s. The app will build this database and notify you of unresolved 404s over time.
