Overview

You might be wondering when your post purchase offers are going to be displayed to your customer. Great question! Offers are shown after the customer pays for their initial purchase (the one that triggers the post purchase offer) but before the confirmation page.

Check out our video that'll show you the checkout flow from start to finish, or read on for more info!

Checkout Flow

Let's get started! Time to select and add item(s) to the cart. (This is the item that will trigger the post purchase offers).

Click checkout when done shopping.

Clicking checkout will bring your shopper to the page where they enter their information.

After the customers information is entered, they’ll move on to the shipping page.

Almost there! Now it’s time for the customer to enter their payment information.

Once that’s done, the customer will be displayed up to two post purchase offers. They’ll also be shown a confirmation that they’ve paid for their original order.

For the purpose of this article, I’m going to accept the first post purchase offer only.

Here’s what this looks like:

After accepting the first offer, I’m going to click “Nope” for the second.

That’s it! Pretty easy, right?

Next, you’ll go to the confirmation page, which will show the customer their order total for the initial item and the selected post purchase offer item.

  2. If your shopper isn't seeing the offers, find out why here.
  3. If a shopper accepts an offer but has insufficient funds or payment failure, they will be directed to the thank you page and prompted to enter payment again to pay for the accepted post-purchase offer. An email from Shopify will also be sent letting them know payment is needed.
