When creating post-purchase offers, you may wonder what products and upsell strategies will convert better than others. With A/B Testing in CartHook, you’re able to judge two different post-purchase offer sets against each other in the same funnel, and determine which one to move forward with.

Note: A/B Testing is a premium feature and requires upgrading to our Scale plan (learn more about our pricing here.) If you are not the store owner, you may need to contact them to approve the new pricing plan due to Shopify permissions.

After creating a funnel and offers, you’ll see the option to run an A/B test, either from the funnel page or from the offer editor:

You can choose to duplicate the current offer set, to make changes to the layout or wording of the same offers to see which performs better, or you can create a new offer set from scratch.

The next step in creating your A/B test is determining if you'd like to manually choose which offer set is the winner, or if you'd like CartHook to do it for you.

Additionally, if you're going to manually choose the winner, you can also set a custom distribution of when the A offer is shown and when the B offer is shown. You'll also be able to select how frequently CartHook reminds you that the test is ongoing.

After creating the B offer, set both offer sets can be edited independently, with different settings, design, or additional offers. Select the set and offer you'd like to edit, and it will be displayed.

After the offers are saved and published, your shoppers will see either Set A offers (50% of the time) or Set B offers (50% of the time) when they place an order that matches the criteria.

When viewing the funnel, you’ll be able to see the performance of both offer sets, to determine which one is performing the best.

When you’ve determined which one you’d like to move forward with, you can use the End A/B Test button.

You’ll be presented with the option to choose which offer set to move forward with.

Once you select the winner, you’ll be in business! 100% of the traffic will be directed to the winning set.

Additionally, you can start a new A/B test to fine-tune your post-purchase offers. It's up to you!
